About HopeGreyBruce Mental Health & Addictions Services
Our program is operated by HopeGreyBruce Mental Health and Addictions Services. We are funded by the South West Local Health Integration Network and Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to provide housing and support for adults recovering from serious mental illness. The program provides affordable housing, support and skills training in three residential settings as well as a range of outreach support and social/recreation/rehabilitation services.
Job Summary
We are inviting applications for Residential Support Worker positions on a full-time, contract basis to provide support services for people who live in our group homes.  It involves mild to moderate levels of physical activity, including the provision of practical assistance in household maintenance tasks and participation in various recreational activities.

Qualifications
• 3-year Diploma or Degree in applied health or social sciences (i.e. Social Work, Psychology, Nursing) with a focus on clinical work and psychosocial rehabilitation
• Registration in a professional college is preferred and may become a requirement
• At least three years recent and relevant clinical experience in adult community mental health services for those with serious mental illness (supportive housing, case management)
• Thorough understanding of mental illness and demonstrated ability to promote and support individual recovery
• Familiarity with psychotropic medications and experience in assisting clients to manage their medications and physical health needs
• Demonstrated skill in bio-psychosocial and environmental assessment, psychosocial rehabilitation, therapeutic rapport building and engagement
• Training and skill regarding motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, concurrent disorders
• Maturity, sound judgement, strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong team skills and ability to work well with community and professional groups
• A good sense of humour and the ability to work well under pressure
• Proficiency in use of personal computers for email, data entry and report writing
• Must have a valid driver’s licence and daily use of a personal vehicle
• An up to date Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening

Rate of Pay (Annual): $49,759 - $54,925 (5 step grid)
Hours of Work: Your hours of work will be based on a rotating schedule, which will total 150 hours in a 4-week period / shifts are 8:30-4:30 or 8:30-7:00, schedule may change to accommodate vacation requests / on-call responsibilities / may include work on statutory holidays
